[TOUR] Way the Dino Scream (恐龙怎么叫) is a Gen Z indie emo band formed by young musicians from Wuhan and Changsha, China. Emerging as a standout act in the current emo revival, their sound defies easy categorization. Drawing a quirky connection between prehistoric dinosaurs and today’s youth, the band deconstructs heavy themes like life, death, love, and growing up through a playful lens, frequently weaving internet memes into their lyrics to soften the gravity of it all. Drawing musical inspiration from acts such as Hom Shenhao (Touming Magazine), Chinese Football, Forest, and Weezer, the band follows a simple ethos: “Complex arrangements don’t always need brooding themes.” They remain true to their instincts and the passion that brought them together in the first place. In 2026, they released their debut EP, “The Schoo Day We Spent With a Brachiosaurus” (校园里有长颈龙的日子), through their own imprint, The Wallers. The opening track, “Intro” opens with fuzzy, radio-like spoken-word dialogue, establishing the “dinosaur” motif that runs throughout the EP. Fresh off several dates across the Greater Bay Area, the band is embarking on the next leg of their tour on August 13, taking them to Kaili and Chengdu before wrapping up at Nuts Livehouse in Chongqing.
